Why You Should Visit Natchez
What makes Natchez so special?
- Natchez is the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River making it a desirable destination for history and culture lovers.
- A big part of the appeal is that it is home to the largest collection of Antebellum Homes in the US! Our Miss Lou package is the best way to see some of these homes and to soak up some legendary southern hospitality as you spend the week at Devereaux Shields House and two other local Inns!
- Natchez was also featured as a bucket list item in the book 1000 Places To See Before You Die and it is on the Top 10 Southern Romantic Places List! Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Mississippi River or the scenic landscape along the Natchez Trace National Scenic Byway that begins in Natchez.
Once you arrive in Natchez we recommend visiting the Welcome Center to receive some information and free refreshments! They offer a friendly help desk as well as innovative and informational displays. “Our Natchez” a 20-minute video about Natchez and the surrounding area can also be viewed here in their movie style theatre! Before you leave be sure to pop into the gift shop to pick up some souvenirs.
