The winery is run by the Galbreath family and the wines are created from Muscadines (an American grape with a European name), grown in a vineyard right outside the facilities back door. After you take the 20 minute tour, the staff will pour you a small sample of each of the products they create from their grapes, so you can see what a treat they really are. It was bequeathed to the city, along with over 100 acres of land, by the heirs of Dr. Stephen Duncan, requiring that the surrounding acreage be used as a public park. Magnolia Hall (c 1858) Home Tours 215 S. Pearl Street, Natchez, MS 39120 Natchez MS 39120 Construction on Magnolia Hall is believed to have begun in 1858, as the residence of Thomas Henderson, a Natchez native who became a wealthy cotton broker and merchant. Melrose National Park (c 1848) Home Tours 1 Melrose-Montebello Parkway Natchez MS 39120 One of 13 National Historic Landmarks in Natchez, Melrose is one of the best preserved and most significant historic sites in the entire South. The Greek Revival mansion was constructed circa 1845 for Pennsylvania native and Natchez attorney John T. McMurran. The home is operated by the Natchez National Park Service, United States. Tours may not be available if there is a special event or wedding taking place, so please call in advance to be certain that the tour is taking place at the designated time.
Stanton Hall (c 1857) Home Tours 401 High St, Natchez MS 39120 Stanton Hall is an Antebellum Classical Revival mansion in Natchez, Mississippi built during 1851-1857 for Frederick Stanton, a cotton broker. It occupies a full block on High Street between Pearl and Commerce Streets in Natchez and is operated as a historic house museum by the Pilgrimage Garden Club.
Towers (c 1798) Home Tours 801 Myrtle Avenue, Natchez MS 39120 Nestled on almost 5 lush acres, The Towers is today one of Natchez's grandest antebellum homes. Surrounded by huge oak trees planted before the Civil War, this wonderful Italianate home accommodates exceptional antique furniture, superb draperies and fabriced walls, beautiful antique laces on every window and extraordinary and unique collections rarely seen elsewhere. The Towers is a privately owned home and therefore requires that visitors desiring to tour the home call for an appointment. William Johnson House (c 1841) Home Tours 210 State Street The William Johnson House is part of the Natchez National Historic Park and run by the local office of the National Park Service. The home contains interactive exhibits as well as large glass plates containing excerpts from William Johnson's diaries.
