1. Kick Off the 2019 Natchez Christmas Season
10th Annual Lighting of the Natchez Christmas Tree – Come join our community on November 29, 2019 for our annual tree lighting and caroling with friends in the center of town at the intersection of Main St & Commerce! Experience an award-winning Mississippi event and enjoy our city tree lighting and community sing-along cuddled by artificial snowfall in the air.
At 4:00, Santa will arrive at Home Bank with cookies and hot chocolate. We will also have food trucks in case you get hungry. Caroling around the tree at 6:15. We light the Christmas tree in the middle of downtown at 6:30 with pyrotechnics, music and snow, making this festive event merry and bright!

There are several opportunities to enjoy and capture photos of your children’s delight while they visit with Santa.
Santa Arrives at Magnolia Hall

- Join us for our 1st annual Lunch with Santa. It will include story time, caroling, pictures and lunch with Santa! This is all done in a beautifully decorated historic home. There are 3 Christmas trees decorated with children in mind. There will be gifts to take home and raffles.

- Got a little one who’s been really nice? Is your child excited about Christmas yet? Whether your answer is yes or no – we invite you and your family to the St. Mary Catholic Youth Organization Annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa! Every child will have the opportunity to make lasting memories and holiday traditions by sharing some up close and personal time with ol’ Saint Nick himself. St. Mary’s CYO will be up early working with Santa and his elves to get everything ready for the big event so it will be extra special. A Blue Blue Christmas at Sunnyside B&B

Christmas Cabaret by the Natchez Festival of Music
- Get ready for a swinging holiday kickoff when the Natchez Festival of Music presents its Christmas Cabaret, “Ringin’ Swingin’ Christmas” features three of the Festival’s favorite musical stars, Maryann Kyle, Jessica Medoff and David Walker. A cash bar with wine by the bottle and glass, cocktails, sodas and water will be available. Attendees may bring the food of their choice to enjoy during the event. Sponsors of tables of 10 are encouraged to decorate their tabletops with festive arrangements which will be judged. The winner will receive two tickets to all 2020 May Festival main stage events. Christmas Caroling on the Steps of the First Presbyterian Church
- On December 18th, everyone is invited to walk, carol, and meet our neighbors in downtown Natchez. We’ll start the walk a few minutes early and arrive at the big tree on Main Street around 5:30 PM. From there, we will make our way from stop to stop ending up on the front steps of First Presbyterian Church. We will be serving hot cider and cookies and will conclude with a theatrical presentation by our children and youth – “Christmas By The Book.”

“Natchez Little Theatre’s Spectacular Christmas Show”

Holly Half Marathon & 5k
- Run through Our Beautiful Natchez Street at Christmas! Welcome to the 2nd Annual Holly Half Marathon and 5k in Natchez, Mississippi. Our goal is to host the premiere road race in the city of Natchez and give back to the community we love. The Half Marathon starts at 8:00am and the 5K starts at 8:15am at North Broadway St. Our event will be hosted on the streets of beautiful Natchez. Grand Village Open House
- On Saturday, December 7, the museum store at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians will host an open house and sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All pottery and baskets will receive a fifteen percent discount and all other merchandise will receive a ten percent discount. The sale will continue through Monday, December 23. Brenda Van Handel will demonstrate Native American style pottery techniques from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Natchez Powwow chairman Chuck Borum and Grand Village director Lance Harris will lead demonstrations of Native American style beadwork techniques. Other activities include a children’s craft corner. Refreshments will be served.
- The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians was the main ceremonial mound center of the Natchez people from 1682 until 1730. The 128-acre National Historic Landmark features three mounds, a plaza, nature trail, museum, and store. Administered by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, the Grand Village is located at 400 Jefferson Davis Boulevard and is open free of charge to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sundays 1:30pm – 5 pm.

An annual favorite Natchez event, tour several private homes, bedecked with Christmas finery, with refreshments, all part of their annual fundraising efforts.

The annual Armstrong Library Christmas Tour of Homes features notable properties, not often seen by the public. All proceeds support the Armstrong Library in Natchez.
